What’s Bang-on Balls: Chronicles?

Bang-On Balls: Chronicles is an action-packed 3D platformer video game inspired by some of the best games of the genre including some italian plumbers, a blue hedgehog, or a bear with a bird on his backpack.

A 3D platformer? Why?

After many years working for AAA studios, on some very complex story-driven role playing games with a serious plot and characters, games which often require a very large time investment from the player… we thought it would a fun and interesting challenge to take all our collective experience and apply it to create a simpler, gameplay-driven game that is very easy to pick-up and enjoy! And after a few prototypes, we found ourselves having a great time developing a 3d platformer… so that’s what we did!

Does that mean Bang-on Balls: Chronicles is a simple game?

Surprisingly… not at all! This game might be easy to pick up and play but has a lot going on under the hood! Everything from the player movement, to all the gameplay mechanics, complex AI with their own behaviours and routines, multiplayer systems and the very detailed levels with lots of interesting places to explore, secrets to discover and epic battles to fight, all needs to come together to create a really fun gaming experience!

Oh, did I see multiplayer being mentioned?

Indeed you did! Bang-on Balls: Chronicles can be played in 2-4 player co-op as well. You can connect randomly to another player anywhere in the world, or only to your friends, and wreck some mayhem together! It makes the game even more fun, hectic and unpredictable!

Why balls?

Remember a while ago when we mentioned the “challenge of creating a gameplay-driven game”? Well this was part of that challenge - we asked ourselves what would be the simplest character we could do, while delivering fun and exciting gameplay mechanics and a beautiful environment to play in? Well, the answer to that question was.... Balls!

Why have you chosen Early Access?

Some games “fit” the Early Access formula better than others, and Bang-On Balls: Chronicles fits it really well! Early Access is a great tool to develop a game with the involvement of the community gathered around it, and we can actively react to players’ comments and suggestions, and together create the best possible game we can.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

That’s up to you, actually! Depending on the reception and feedback that we get from the community, it will affect the amount of time needed to complete the game! We have many more levels to create, and we really want you to play them, so we certainly do not want to fall into the Early Access “limbo”. So rest assured we will do our best to keep expanding the game and updating it with great content! 😊

What are your plans for Community involvement in your development process?

We’ll create a special Discord channel for our ballsy fans to share their thoughts and chat around about the game! It’s a great place to form a community and talk about various ideas. We can’t promise that all of them will be implemented into the game but for sure all of them will be taken into consideration!

Are there any rewards for being a part of Early Access?

Being gamers ourselves (and having purchased several Early Access titles as well), we want to make sure gamers who are with us from the beginning are rewarded! We’re preparing some special items (even some that were made specifically for developers), and we’ll grant you special access to them!
